Apple Face ID and Touch ID will let you sign-in into iCloud.com on IOS13. Since apple release, FaceId on iPhone X allowed the use of Face ID and Touch ID regularly and this now may lead Apple to revolutionize the use of passwords. Apple is testing now its biometric identification technologies on iCloud.com with iOS 13 beta and Catalina macOS. After implement access from the devices and apps on iOS, now security technology reaches the web. we really hope that Apple will develop future the sign-in features and will let developers or users sign in to websites/apps through their phones just by using touch id / face id.
APPLE ICLOUD WILL GET FACE ID AND TOUCH ID SUPPORT WITH IOS 13
Beta versions of iOS 13 and Catalina macOS beta can now be installed on your devices. For those who are testing iOS 13, iPadOS 13 and Catalina macOS, Apple is providing a new authentication process on iCloud.com via the web. So when you access beta.icloud.com with a device that runs iOS beta version, you can now sign in to your account using your faceID or touch ID.
When you go to iCloud.com on Safari, using your device running iOS13, iPadOS or MacOS betas, the user will see a new popup. As you can see in the image above, asking if you want to sign in using Apple ID with your biometric data. So, on a Face ID-equipped device, this means to login with the faceID. while on other devices, including Touch Bar compatible MacBooks Pro the Touch ID will be used. The image below shows the login process via FaceID on iPhone XS Max, running the beta for iOS 13 beta3.
This is still in beta testing When you visit iCloud.com on iphone with the respective beta version, you will be redirected automatically to beta.icloud.com. However, if it does not, you can go manually and enter the address. it is a simpler process, also much more simple than the two-factor authentication used for additional security.
According to Apple, the new iOS13 final version will be released in September. For now, these new betas are the most modern and safe functionalities. Signing in using Face ID or Touch ID on iCloud.com is much easier and safer than manual procedures. Therefore, this process is familiar to anyone who has a login to the AppStore or iTunes Store in the past. The leap is given, passwords may be a thing of the past in the Apple ecosystem.
